A drive up the canyon

Richard and I decided to take a drive up one of the canyons to see the view and have a little picnic together. We found this hill when we stopped to take a picture so we decided to run up to the top. It was pretty hard, but it was really fun. After, we found a little area to sit down and eat our picnic. It was located by a campsite area so it had some pretty good logs to sit on. All in all it was a really fun day, I loved it.

Fourth of July "clean up"

After the fourth of July family party we all needed to wash our hair (Stacia, Tianna, and me-Becky) so the chlorine wouldn't get set in, so we all leaned over the bathtub and washed it together. Richard took some pictures for us and we thought we were so funny.

Hiking with Shawn

A couple summers ago we went hiking with my brother-in-law Shawn and some of his geocaching crew. We went with him so we could do a little geocaching ourselves, as well as hiking. It was a lot of fun, and we got to learn about geocaching. Geocaching is where you hide a blank list for people to sign when they find it and a lot of times a prize in some sort of container. Then you enter the coordinates on a website for people to download onto their gps so they can go out and find them. (I hope I explained it right, but I think I explained it pretty well.) Shawn is awesome at geocaching, he has done so many!! It was really fun.

Pioneer wagon

After seeing the drill holes we decided to continue with the "activity" my seminary teacher told me about. The next step being a church in Murray, by Murray Park actually. After you see the drill holes you are supposed to hop on the freeway until you come to the exit by fashion place mall. That will take you to a LDS church that has an actual wagon used by the pioneers to carry the granite to the Temple site. They say the church sits on the exact half way point. The granite was too heavy to be carried all the way from the mountain to the Temple site so they needed to stop half way and change wagons. The last step of the "activity," and the step that we didn't end up doing because it was hot so we went and got some lunch, is to leave the church get on state street and drive down to the Temple so you can see the finished product. Since we didn't do that step however, but I have of course been to the Salt Lake Temple, I have included a picture of it anyway so everyone can enjoy the finished product of the pioneer's hard work. And I strongly suggest this "activity."

Pioneer drill holes

July, 2006. We went a hike in Little Cottonwood Canyon to find, where the pioneer's got the granite for the Salt Lake Temple. We found the spot at the mouth of the canyon, if you look closely you can see. Behind us on the rock are the actual places where the pioneer's drilled for the granite to make the Salt Lake Temple (also shown in the picture where I'm pointing right at it.) That was a fun and easy hike, it's located by a little amphitheater at the base. Melanie, Nathan, Josh, Brandon, Mom, Richard, and I all went.

Tuacahn

July, 2006. Tuacahn is another fun place to go to, unfortunately we haven't been back since then.

Road trip

We went to Zion, and Bryce Canyon with my Mommy in July of 2006. It was a blast. We try to go on trips like this to see new (or old) things when we can.

Hair-cut

November 5, 2006. This was the first time I had given Richard a hair cut after learning how from Dave (Richard's former barber, and a family friend).

It turns out Richard did have a plan. He proposed to me (Becky) on November 19th 2005 in the most romantic way, I loved it. We already had our Temple date set for March 11th 2006, so now all that was left was announcing it to the family. We met up with my brothers Chris and Joey and their family's and my Mom at Chili's, and we announced it there. After that it was chaos...everyone called someone, and expected me to talk to all of them at the same time. I loved it!! Also, my brother Ben, after he got done with me, decided to interrogate Richard to make sure he could take care of me. Later he did tell Richard something to the effect of - "Sorry if I scared ya, but I kind of like my sister, ya know?"
For Halloween we went as a Granger football player and a "cheerleader." That was awesome because Richard went to Hunter, and swears the Hunter is better. (Ha!! Go Granger!!) We went to the family's ward where Richard was staying at the time - Jason and Jan - to do trunk-or-treating with their kids, however we couldn't find them. We ended up spending that Halloween going for a walk around their neighborhood.
After our first date on October 6th, we continued to date and became an exclusive couple. Within a couple of weeks we were talking about a wedding date (yes it was soon, but it was right) The date was finally decided and we booked the Temple's. Planning was hard because I didn't have a ring and we didn't want to tell anyone without a ring. We did finally tell my mother. She was thrilled and offered Richard a loan so he could get the ring and start the planning. He told her that he had a plan though.

Our first date

Our first date was a blind date, we each went with friends so they wouldn't have to go alone. We went and watched the Tabernacle Choir rehearse and then walked around Temple Square for awhile. Richard was so nervous to get his picture taken with me, but I wanted a picture of us. (I really liked him) He always teases me now, saying I'm weird and was trying to grab his butt.
