Bear trip

September 2009, Richard and I (with baby in belly) went to Yellowstone Bear World to drive through and see the bears.  It is something I have always wanted to do, I LOVE BEARS.  It was a really fun trip that we would love to repeat.  We will definitely go when it's warmer though, the bears were basically hibernating.  Neat trip anyway.

Bear trip

There were some really cute baby bears that you could watch play.  I couldn't tear myself away from them, they were so cute.  Richard went to the bathroom and told me to get us some food, when he came back I was watching/filming the baby bears again.  Ha ha.  They were being way active.  Teasing each other, it was funny.  There was also a petting zoo that we went into after we ate so we could pet and feed some animals.  That is when Bambi tried to kick me; honest. It was so much fun.  I got the stuffed bear at the gift shop.  His name is Blacky.

We also got to go to two temples on our trip. It was amazing.  We went to the Rexburg and the Idaho Falls temples. And we saw some of the falls and went down a strange road with tons of cows wandering free.

Family reunion

August 2009 Richard and I drove down to Glenwood for the extended Hendrickson family reunion.  It was fun but I was pretty sick with morning sickness and nobody had been told yet.  We camped, and had a great time reuniting with family.  When the guy was filling up the water jug above it looked like he was peeing into it from our angle, Celeste was sure to announce that fact to the group.  Ha ha, we all laughed and got pictures.  It was funny.  We got to go on a hay ride and see many things from our family's past having grown up in the area.

Positive

On the 24th of July 2009 I took a pregnancy test, which turned out to be positive.  We were planning on trying for kids starting in August, but things happened a little sooner; it was a month of fireworks!!  Therefore, it was a bittersweet moment when the test came up positive because I thought Richard might not be excited, while I was.  It was a Saturday and he was at work.  I called him to tell him I needed to talk to him, but I started to cry and he figured it out.  He assured me he was excited and told me we would talk when he got home.  I spent the next couple of hours in a slightly nervous tension, going about my day the best I could.  Then when Richard got home he had brought me the "baby flowers" and gave me a kiss to relieve all tensions.

Boing

The grand-kids didn't know how to play boing.  A three person game played on the tramp where you take turns jumping across the length of the tramp landing on your bum, where the person standing parallel to your landing position steals your bounce to bounce across the tramp and land on their bum on the other side.  After you have jumped and landed on your bum and your bounce has been stolen, you stand up and take the place of the person who just stole your bounce to repeat the cycle.

Yard work

In the summer of 2009 Richard and I decided to take out the zero scape we had in our front lawn and put in grass and a sprinkling system.  The plants that were in the zero scape grew like weeds and the weeds grew where the plants missed, it was a disaster.  Every year we removed between ten and twenty bags of plants and weeds.  This year though, because we knew we were going to take this on we hadn't been weeding like normal so it was a huge undertaking; plus we had to remove everything: the bark, the plants, everything. And the dang weeds made my face get all red and swollen , and my arms and legs got covered in rash.  It sucked. Above is a before and after of the lawn, and below is the rashes and such.

Yard work continued

Because of how quickly the plants and weeds would grow in our yard, we got huge quantities of bags and boxes of weeds and bark that we had to dispose of for weeks.  We ended up with 84 bags of weeds and plants, 62 boxes of bark, and 17 bags of bark.  A huge undertaking.  Thanks to the help of my mom Sally, Kira and Travis, Neal and Karla, and Baggio - Richard and I were able to get it done.  It's so much better now.
