Our sweet Alexa - March to April 2010
Just a few pictures of our angel. When Richard and I brought her home, that first day, we just kind of looked at each other and curiously asked "now what do we do?" It took some adjusting, but we fell into the best rhythm we could with an ever changing and growing baby.
Her dress says it all.
Our little lady, all ready to go.
Love the hands.
Sweet.
My work sent these flowers after Alexa was born
First Easter. Adorable.
Snuggle time with dad.
Loungin' in the bouncer.
Getting ready to go to bed, I had to go potty. I asked Richard to hold Alexa, when I came back this is what I found.
This picture was too cute to pass up, at church.
So tired.
Our crazy lady loved to sleep with her face squashed against whatever she was laying on.
Jaundice

Alexa's bilirubin tests came back a little high, and kept getting higher. She was therefore getting more and more yellow (jaundice). Therefore, she had to be put under the UV light to get things under control. It was hard, because she had to be under them all night and as much throughout the day as possible. She had what was shown in the pictures, as well as a pad with a light that went around her belly and back. That made feeding her difficult, I had to sit on the floor to do it, because the cord would not go very far. Also, you will see my swollen feet, which didn't swell until after she was born. Weird.

First bath

Finally!!

On March 18th, 2010 we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world. She was 6 lbs 2 oz., 19 in. long. She was perfect. We had her at 3:29 p.m. Her name: Alexa Cally Woods. We waited to find out the sex until she was born, so it was an awesome surprise. When she first came Richard didn't get to cut the umbilical cord, and I didn't get her set on my chest right away; her heart rate had been dropping, and she had too much fluid in her lungs and needed immediate attention. Luckily the NICU nurses were already in the room, due to my labor struggles so it turned out great. Anyway, due to all this, the nurse was keeping me updated about everything going on. She said "he looks good!" I exclaimed, "It's a boy?!?" "Oh, let me check........nope, it's a girl." Haha. She said she had something like four boys of her own so she was used to saying 'he'. It was so funny. And finally, we received our perfect baby girl into our arms.
Valentines Day
Richard and I trade off writing letters to each other, and sneaking them in the mail box. So for Valentines Day - 2010 this is what he got me. So cute.
Christmas Service Project

Each year for Christmas my family does a service project - in lieu of exchanging gifts between the adults. 2010 (as well as 2009 when we started this) we brought toys and blankets and stuff to Primary Childrens Hospital and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. We decided to go down the line of kids in my family here in the state to choose what service project we would participate in. 2010 was Celeste's year.

Bear trip

September 2009, Richard and I (with baby in belly) went to Yellowstone Bear World to drive through and see the bears. It is something I have always wanted to do, I LOVE BEARS. It was a really fun trip that we would love to repeat. We will definitely go when it's warmer though, the bears were basically hibernating. Neat trip anyway.
Bear trip

There were some really cute baby bears that you could watch play. I couldn't tear myself away from them, they were so cute. Richard went to the bathroom and told me to get us some food, when he came back I was watching/filming the baby bears again. Ha ha. They were being way active. Teasing each other, it was funny. There was also a petting zoo that we went into after we ate so we could pet and feed some animals. That is when Bambi tried to kick me; honest. It was so much fun. I got the stuffed bear at the gift shop. His name is Blacky.
